Offered is part of the rudder control system from a German V-1 rocket. The V-1 was one of Nazi Germany's final, desperate efforts to change the course World War Two. The rocket was initially used to attack London and Antwerp with high explosives but a more sinister future was planned for the rocket program. Werner Von Braun - the designer of the rocket - was tasked with building a three stage variant of the V-1 so New York City could be hit with a nuclear warhead. Fortunately the second generation V-1 never got off the drawing board and the Nazi Atomic Weapons Program failed to produce a functional atomic warhead. Several years ago I was offered a collection of V-1 relics from a detectorist who lived near Peenemunde. After an evening of research I determined the relics to be authentic parts from a V-1. It is now my turn to offer collectors an opportunity to add a V-1 relic to their collection.
