Ready to hang. Terrific gift. Artist StatementI am an oil painter, painting figures, animals and abstracts. I hold a BFA in design from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in painting from Fontbonne University.Painting for me is how I organize my thoughts and communicate. In this busy world painting calms my mind and brings peace to my soul. I feel as if I soak up information and transfer to the canvas. My painting method is very intuitive, I let the painting take me were it will. I create abstract, abstract-expressionism and impressionism in my art. I will lay down colors with an idea, using oils then add other materials as needed. Oil pastels is a favorite medium.I was drawn to oil painting because of the expressive qualities I can create. Communicating my feelings of the moment through paint is my goal. What is going on in the world around us is important to me. The meditative feel of moving paint around a canvas and the therapeutic application of
color is what I crave. My intention is that the viewer will feel what I feel and see what I see and bring a calming presence. As always, made in America.Nancy Van Ness ArtOil Painting Artist
